Fall Campus Day is almost here!

Don’t forget to join us tomorrow, November 8 from 10am to 2:30pm. An agenda is available on the Fall Campus Day website so you can plan your day before you get here. Just hover over a session or tour name and click “attend” and when you print the page, the sessions you selected will print in a customized listing.

There is no shortage of things to do and see at Fall Campus Day, so I’ve highlighted some of my *must-see* events to help you plan.

Admission Session for Transfer & Mature Applications

Expect to learn how admission requirements differ for transfer and mature students. You’ll get an overview of how transfer credits are assessed and which documents you will need to apply. I transferred here quite easily myself two years ago and it was certainly due to information like this. 11am in Vari Hall, room 1154.

Paying for School: Financial Information

Did you know that York gave out approximately $27 million in financial awards to students last year? University can be quite costly and while you apply to schools, it’s important to think about how you’ll pay for it. You’ll learn about the costs of attending university and what resources are available. Topics covered include: OSAP, RESPs, awards and scholarships. This session runs from 11am and 1pm, Vari Hall, room 1152A.

Study + Work Abroad: Global Learning Opportunities at York

University is one of the best times to get international experiences under your belt. York has partnerships with prominent universities all around the world, so this is a great session to attend if you have dreamed of having a year abroad. This can be a great experience to include on your resume, particularly if you are able to pick up a new language! 1pm, Vari Hall, room 1154.

Tours

Tours will be running all through out the day so make sure to check the agenda for the tours that interest you. I strongly recommend taking a look at the residences if you are considering living on campus so you can get a feel for your future home. You can also tour with the faculties and learn more about various programs, buildings and more. Campus tours throughout the year typically cover main buildings on campus only, so this is the perfect day to get all the information you need to help make your decision to come to York!

If you know which programs you’re interested in, you should consider a Faculty or program-specific tour or information session. Here are some of the Faculty tours on offer tomorrow:

  • School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design – At noon and 2pm leaving from Accolade West lobby.
  • Faculty of Environmental Studies – 11:30am and 1:30pm departing from Vari Hall rooms 1016 and 1018.
  • Faculty of Science – 10:30 to 1:30 pm with tours departing every 15 minutes from Vari Hall room 2005. Tours are approximately 1 hour in length.
  • Schulich – 11:30am and 2pm, leaving from Vari Hall A. Additional tours will also be departing from the Schulich kiosk at Noon and 2pm.

If you haven’t registered for Fall Campus Day, what are you waiting for? 🙂
