Well, they’re over, the Pan Am Games, but what fun we had, what amazing athleticism we witnessed! Congratulations to everyone who participated and helped make it possible, athletes, organizers, volunteers. No contribution was too small, no feat too minor.
Now for those of us smarting a bit at not having our daily dose of live sports in our midst, a little flash of memory: some pictures from Friday afternoon, when my fellow blogger Rebecca and I once again made our way to the CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Athletic Stadium right here on campus to witness the events inside. What better way to spend a Friday than among a crowd of roaring Canadians cheering on our fellow athletes? Enjoy the sights!
My ears are still ringing from the vivacious crowd around me as Canada placed in event after event throughout the day. It was an incredible experience to hear and feel the earthquake of a thousand foot stomps every time the word “Canada” was uttered.
I already look forward to the Parapan Am Games, from August 7 to August 15, and the excitement they too will bring into the these stands. Stay tuned for more coverage!
